Original Delia member Kendall LeCompte has either designed or directly influenced the beds that we make. They have been successful and the inclination has been to continue with what works. But its been on my mind to try to create something that is different. There is an attractive simplicity to a platform bed. Like most men, I dont care for the foot board. But I gave up sleeping on the ground when I tossed my futon. Here is a bed that I think begins to explore the appeal of simple clean lines with the greater comfort of a traditional bed set up. The material is a simple tube frame ground to a bright shine to accentuate the appeal of the weathered steel plate. And the best part is that it’s fast to build and should retail for around $600. Call for details.

This was a tricky project for us to make here at Delia. The piece is made from 3 separate pieces of flat stock and each was bent individually and then welded together. And then we laughed because we could have bought a horse trough and cut out the bottom. It does look better than a horse trough. The idea is to place a wood shelf on the bottom and use as an entertainment center. Electronic things amps and dvd players go underneath with a flat screen tv on the top. Can be done in custom sizes. $1000 for this size.
